Cosmetic Veneers,

A veneer is a thin layer of porcelain designed to fit over the front of the tooth to change its colour, shape or position. A precise shade of porcelain can be chosen to give the right colour to improve a single discoloured tooth or to lighten the front teeth. A veneer can make a chipped tooth look intact again. Veneers may also be recommended if you have gaps in your teeth or would like to level your teeth, in cases that orthodontic braces may not be suitable or convenient. Veneers can also be used if you have not had success with tooth whitening and would like a whiter smile.

Veneers can improve teeth that:

Have spaces between them, have become chipped or worn, are permanently stained, are poorly shaped, are crooked.

Procedure

After your initial consultation where we will discuss all treatment options are prices it will take at least two visits to complete your new smile. The first appointment will be to prepare the tooth/teeth for veneers and select a shade together that you’re happy with. The second appointment is to fit your new veneer/veneers into place allowing you to leave with your new smile.

Dental Crowns,

Crowns are used to completely cover a tooth improving strength and restoring a tooth back to its normal shape and appearance. Crowns are used in cases where teeth may be broken, impaired by decay or large fillings or in cases where veneers may not be suitable.

You may need a crown to:

Cover a misshapen or discoloured tooth, protect a weak tooth, restore a broken or worn tooth, cover a tooth with a large filling, cover a tooth that has had root canal treatment.

Various different types of crowns made from different materials are available. Your dentist will discuss with you the different types of crowns available during your appointment and advise you as to which material will be most suitable for your individual needs.

Some of the different crowns available are:

Porcelain Bonded Crowns, precious Metallic Crowns, non Precious Metallic Crowns, all Ceramic Crowns.

Procedure

Similar to a veneer, crowns require at least two appointments. This first appointment is to shape the tooth/teeth and take an impression which is sent to one of our highly experienced lab technicians. The second appointment is to fit the crown and make sure that it is fitting perfectly for you.

Dentures,

Complete/Full dentures are used to replace missing teeth for people with no remaining teeth. Partial Dentures used for people who have lost several teeth. There multiple different materials that dentures are made from:

Acrylic:

All of the gum-coloured parts of full or partial false teeth are made from hard, acrylic material. Acrylic material is strong enough to hold the false teeth firmly in place. However, it is less durable than some alternatives and it can crack easily if dropped or if too much pressure is placed on it while biting.

Metallic:

Metal such as steel and chrome can also be used in denture plates, particularly on the upper jaw. Metal dentures come with a number of benefits over all-acrylic dentures:

The metal makes the framework stronger and more durable, chrome plates can be made thinner than acrylic, so are more comfortable and lightweight, they fit more precisely.

Flexible Dentures:

One popular alternative to conventional false teeth is flexible dentures such as Valplast flexible partials. These don’t have the rigidity of acrylic and are also less bulky. This means they are more comfortable to wear and are less likely to cause difficulties with speech.

Benefits of flexible dentures include: Extremely durable material, soft material which is gentler to gums, no unsightly metal clasps, no adhesive needed, translucent resin material blends with natural gum colour, thin and lightweight, less effect on speech.

Root Canal Treatment,

A root canal procedure involves tooth disinfection and the removal of all debris (nerve tissue, lymph tissue, blood tissue, bacteria and infection) from the pulp chamber and its associated canals. Once an affected tooth’s canals are sufficiently cleaned and shaped, they are filled with materials designed to prevent pain and infection from recurring.

Bridges,

Dental bridges, like implants and partial dentures, are used to replace missing teeth. There are several types of fixed dental bridges (cannot be removed), including conventional fixed, cantilever and resin-bonded.
Typically, conventional and cantilever bridges require shaping of the teeth surrounding a missing tooth. A bridge is then placed on the shaped teeth and attached to an artificial tooth.

A resin-bonded bridge requires less preparation of adjacent teeth. It is often used to replace front teeth, provided that the gums are healthy and the surrounding teeth do not have extensive dental fillings.

Sedation,

We understand that all our patients are different and that many may feel very anxious when coming to see the dentist. Fear of the dentist can be a result of many things such as bad experiences in the past, nervous of having injections in the mouth, and sometimes just fear of the unknown. Quite often these fears can prevent patients from going to the dentist and having important treatment carried out which can have irreversible effects in the long term.
Although we endeavour to provide a calm and relaxing environment to all our patients we also understand that sometimes the fear is too much, therefore we offer the option of having conscious sedation alongside private treatments to make our patients feel more relaxed and at ease during their dental treatment.
Conscious Sedation is a technique that is designed to make you more comfortable and relaxed during dental procedures. It has also been shown to be very useful for those who struggle to have dental treatment due to severe gag reflexes or limited mouth opening. Conscious sedation is probably the fastest growing area in anaesthesia care, and has become a very effective viable alternative to general anaesthetic.
A sedative drug is administered via injection usually in the back of the hand producing a more relaxed state of mind. During the treatment you will be drowsy, calm and vaguely aware of your surroundings, but you will feel no pain or anxiety. However, should the dentist need to communicate verbal instructions to you, you will be able to do so. After the treatment, you will usually need a recovery period of 10-20 minutes, after this you will be discharged into the care of your escort. The sedative effect of the drug will wear off over the course of the day and in most cases the sedation drugs can be expected to be fully out of your system within 24hours.
Conscious sedation is a safe and straightforward procedure allowing you to have a more relaxed and care free experience during your dental treatment.

We also offer 0% finance to help you achieve the smile of your dreams today.

Wrinkle Reduction,

There are various different brand names associated with wrinkle reducing injections the most commonly known of which is Botox, at Chapel Park Dental Practice we use Azzalure. Azzalure is derived from Botulinum toxin and is used to temporarily relax muscles, this leads to the reduction of winkles, softening facial expressions and reversing the signs of aging.
The most common uses of Azzalure are to soften/reduce the wrinkles around the forehead and eyes, Azzalure can also be used to provide a brow lift giving a more youthful appearance reducing the hooding/drooping of the upper eyelids.

Procedure

Before any treatment we must have an initial consultation. During this appointment we will take a full medical history and advise you of what options are available to address the concerns that you have, we will also ensure that your expectations for treatment are realistic. At this time all benefits and risks will be explained to you.
At your treatment appointment we will start by using a wipe to cleanse your face. After ensuring that your face is clean and free from any makeup, a small needle will be used to inject the Azzalure directly into the muscles. The treatment usually takes approximately 10-15minutes depending on how many areas you hare having treated.
You can expect the treatment to start to take effect after 2-3 days and are able to see the full results after 14 days. We expect the effects of the Azzalure to last from 3-4 months however these timings can vary from person to person. Regular use of Azzalure will lead to longer lasting results.

Hyaluronic acid is a substance that natural occurs within the skin and body which reduces as part of the aging process. This can lead to loose skin, and a less full appearance in the face.
The most common areas treated with Restylane are the nasolabial folds (lines from the nose to the mouth) and the marionette lines (mouth to chin lines). Fillers can also be used to treat lines around the lips.

At your treatment appointment an anaesthetic cream will be applied to the areas that are to be injected. After the anaesthetic has taken effect, the skin will be cleaned and the dermal filler will be injected into the desired areas. The average amount of time this takes is approximately 15-20 minutes depending on how many areas are being treated.
